The Aurora 4K HDR NanoEdge series has arrived after years of research and development, with the goal of unmatched performance in any lighting environment. The Aurora 4K HDR material is an optically engineered material with a special coating designed to give high contrast images in both low and high ambient light situations.

Three years of engineering, using nano-engineering techniques, has led to a material that is perfectly smooth, texture free, nearly sparkle-less with virtually no hot-spotting and up to 950% higher contrast.Furthermore, high colour accuracy was achieved, allowing the complete reproduction of the full BT2020 4K UHD HDR colour space. The Aurora 4K HDR material, with its engineering achievements, allows it to realize maximum image fidelity in both high ambient light situations as well as dedicated home theater rooms.

Adding to the performance of the screen is the stunningly beautiful NanoEdge bezel, which is 0.4" in width, as well as LED lighting which comes standard.

Ultra-Luxurious Modern Design Aesthetic

The ultra-modern sleek contour of the screen elevates the décor of any room that the screen is placed in. This makes the screen the centerpiece of any room and a highlight topic of conversation for all your viewers and guests. The very thin NanoEdge bezel and the LED lights behind the screen, with its large variety of colours and soft glow, complement the mood and style of any décor. The combination of all the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge features as well as the unbeatable performance of the Aurora 4K UHD material transforms your projection setup into a high-performance home theater with unparalleled performance and aesthetics.

Impregnation with Nano-Optically Shaped Particles

The Aurora 4K HDR screen material uses sub-micron sized highly reflective metallic particles to achieve:

1. High gain, bright whites, high image "pop", and increases in depth of field, all without sparkles and texturing that competitors' screens suffer from.

2. Rejection of ambient light, producing much deeper blacks, even under bright conditions.

The end result is extremely large increases in contrast of up to 950%, leading to the deepest blacks and brightest whites in both low and high ambient light situations. In short, your image will be vibrant and high-contrast, no matter the ambient light environment.

Ultra-High Contrast Under both High and Low Ambient-Light Conditions

The engineering and technology used in the Aurora 4K UHD material results in an highly perceptible boost in contrast of up to 950% versus conventional projection materials. The increase in contrast can be seen as a night/day difference in high ambient light situation. Furthermore, unlike other ambient-light rejecting materials, which only work well in high ambient-light situations, the Aurora 4K UHD material can be used in both high-ambient light environments, dedicated theater rooms and everything else in between. The material decreases light spill and light scatter which ultimately results in higher contrast in any environment, allowing you to maximize projection performance of your theater whether you have the lights on or off.

Specifically Designed for 4K HDR 10-bit Colour

The Aurora 4K HDR screen material was specifically designed with the new HDR 10-bit 4K UHD discs in mind. The new BT2020 colour space on the HDR Blu-ray discs reproduces many more colours than the old REC709 Blu-ray colour space and the Aurora 4K material ensures that all colours are accurately reproduced, leading to more vibrant and life-like HD projection.

Achieve the Ultimate Look with Colour and Brightness Remote-Controlled LEDs

EluneVision always aims to exceed the performance and value of competitors, and the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screen is no exception. Set the ultimate mood for your room with the press of a button on the included RF remote, allowing you to control the colour, brightness as well as the option of 6 colour/brightness cycling modes. Unlike competitors which charge up to an additional $1000 for optional LED addition to their screen, the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screen comes with LED back-lighting as a free, standard feature.

Integration with Home Automation Control Systems and Universal Remotes

With the optional IR LED controller, the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge's LEDs can be fully integrated into home automation systems. This means you will be able to change the LED settings with all of your favorite control systems such as as Control 4, Elan, Crestron, etc.

Superior LED Back-Lighting for Increased Performance and Aesthetics

Given that EluneVision always aims to exceed the performance and value of the competitors, it was not enough to merely include an LED kit compared to competitors who charge extra for it - we also wanted to make sure theLEDs were implemented in a superior way. Standardizing the LEDs as an integral part of the screen means no stone was left unturned to make sure the LEDs worked ideally with the NanoEdge screen.

1. The EluneVision Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge fixed-frame screen uses higher density LEDs. A higher density of LEDs per linear foot is the key reason that the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screen produces an aura which is larger, smoother and of a much higher quality than so many of their competitors.

2. The extreme attention to detail for the NanoEdge screen means we placed the LED stripes around the corners of the screen as well, with specially designed L-shaped corner-pieces. Compare this to the LED strips of more expensive competitors, who have no LEDs in the corner of the strips, leading to a dead spot effect in the corner of their screens.

3. Due to psycho-visual effects and way human vision works, when an image is surrounded with bright light in any colour, the perceived contrast of the image within increases significantly.

Given that the LED back-lighting improves both the performance of the projection system as well as increasing the aesthetics of the room, it is not surprising that we have chosen to include it with the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screen as a free, standard feature. EluneVision implementation of the LED back-lighting system in the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screen has met the goal of out-pacing the competition in value, performance and aesthetics.

Stunningly Beautiful NanoEdge Bezel

The bezel of the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screen uses an ultra-thin all aluminum 10mm or 0.4” frame. The bezel is covered in ultra-black velour, which helps to soak up any stray light from the projector. The bezel gives the screen, and thus your room, a stunningly modern design aesthetic.

Reference 2D and 3D Performance

The Aurora 4K UHD series of screens is designed to maximize detail, resolution and uniformity for both 2D and 3D projection. To get the best 3D immersive experience, the screen must be free from artifacts, hot spots and textures. Any flaw in the material and in the reproduction will contribute to a loss of immersion and viewer fatigue due to increased cross talk.

Durable Long Life and Upgradability

EluneVision Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge fixed-frame screens have a very long expected life. This long life, combined with theAurora 4K UHD material which produces gorgeous picture in both low and high ambient-light environments, ensures that this screen can be used for many iterations of projector upgrades.

The projector technology today is advancing by leaps and bounds, which means that every 3-4 years is the optimum time to upgrade your projector. Because the screens perform at the highest level, you will be able to enjoy each improvement in performance to the fullest level on the Aurora 4K UHD NanoEdge screens. Even the most expensive competitors cannot fully support a 1080p as well due to more texturing and much higher noticable sparkling in the image.

Due to the texturless surface, even when the resolution eventually increases to 8K pixel resolution and beyond, each pixel will be rendered sharply and accurately. Many competitors' screens effectively down-sample today's high-resolution 1080p projectors to a lower-resolution image, and they will do it even more for tomorrow's higher resolution 4K and 8K projectors. Whether you are purchasing a screen to get the most contrast and performance out of your projector today, or you are purchasing a screen that will work with video resolutions of tomorrow - the Aurora 4K UHD series is the best solution.

Perfect Pixel Geometry

The lack of texture leaves pixel geometry perfectly intact with the material. Why is this important? With 1080p projectors now standard and 4K projectors becoming more affordable, EluneVision’s Aurora 4K UHD material ensures that the effective resolution remains at 1080p, while other (more expensive) competitors degrade the pixel geometry to the point that the effective resolution is no longer even close to 1080p. Also due to the fact that there is zero texturing and perfect preservation of detail clarity, the Aurora 4K UHD material will perfectly resolve 4K and 8K resolution, saving you a screen upgrade and thus saving a lot of money.

No Sparkles or Graininess - Complete Invisibility of Screen Material

Due to the use of a smooth and, the screen has absolutely no sparkles. The Aurora 4K UHD material will easily pass any of the common sparkle tests, which include fast action bright scenes in movies as well as hockey, footbal, and other sports. This means that viewer will always see the image displayed on the screen as the projector manufacturer intended, and will never see the annoying imperfections present on competitors’ screen materials.

Moire Free With All Projection Technologies

When an image's pixel pattern does not match that of the textured surface it is displayed on, moire is created. The mismatch causes a wavy, non-uniform, interference pattern which degrades projected image quality and uniformity.

The Aurora 4K UHD material completely eliminates this problem because the screen material is texture free, which means that there is no textured surface pattern that could cause the creation of the interference patterns. Furthermore, the Aurora 4K UHD material has been tested with LCD, DLP, D-ILA and SXRD projectors to ensure a moire-free picture at various throw distances and viewing angles.

To the left is an example of how moire can impact picture quality. When you zoom in, you see that the competitor's screen creates moire on the woman's dress, causing artifacting patterns that are not supposed to be on the image. Furthermore, the moire pattern also causes discoloration, as green hues are introduced on what is supposed to be a completely blue dress in the competitor's image.

Minimal Hot Spotting

A big problem that you see with all ambient-light rejecting screens, including the most expensive ones, is hot spotting. Hot spotting results in an area at the center of the screen with high glare and light, surrounded by a comparably darker image at the top, bottom and sides of the screen. As seen below, this results in a very unnatural image. This is not a phenomenon that only cheaper screens suffer from - there are countless examples of significantly more expensive competitors that suffer greatly from hot spotting, serving as a testament to EluneVision’s engineering efforts in perfecting the AudioWeave 4K UHD material quality.

Colour Neutrality and Accuracy

EluneVision’s new Aurora 4K UHD material is designed specifically to achieve the highest level of colour reproduction. To achieve this, the material is designed for a completely neutral colour reproduction. Many other ambient-light rejecting projection materials in the market today will exhibit a shift in hue, either to the blue, green or red. This creates an unnatural balance to the colours and will decrease the colour uniformity and vibrancy.

The top zoom-in shows the competitor's screen versus our EluneVision Aurora 4K UHD screen material. Note the color shifts that the competitor exhibits, as well as the minimization color shifts of the EluneVision Aurora 4K UHD material. This results in the color accuracy of the whites and the reds you see in the EluneVision Aurora 4K UHD screen material image.
